terrible Index and Table of Content ruin a great book in kindle edition

Nice textbook for resident in emergency department. However, the kindle edition has to refine two things to get 5 stars. First, table of contents couldn't show chapters in part B & C, which makes access to chaper 12~141 nothing more than nightmare. Second, the Index is a product of copy and paste from non-kindle edition, which means that you could see the Index page to page on Kindle, instead of searching the key words, so searching certain topic through Index would be the last thing one will do on kindle. By the way, the numbers in Index are for solid book (page, in a real book) rather than for kindle (loc, in Kindle format) . One could say that it's an Index to puzzle, not Index to this great textbook.
Unless you decide to read Goldfrank just like read a fiction novel, page-to-page and front-to-back, the Kindle edition should be the last choice for whom interesting to Toxicology. Quite regret to buy this great book in kindle edition.

Success does come with hard work and lots of it

An interesting read. We are taught we are all born equal then one of us stands out and rises above our peers and the question often comes up "why is that person so successful and what is different about them"
This book explains a bit of that myth. It’s an ideal read for a Plane trip and because it wanders amongst friends and colleagues it stimulates the interest and opens the mind. "They're a Weird Mob" is a popular Australian comic novel written by John O'Grady under the pseudonym "Nino Culotta",It is a funny story about an Italian that leaves the village and goes to work as a builders hand in Australia . If you can find a copy of the book it it will put a different angle on Gino Stefanutti's book.
Gino started with nothing much more than strong family and moral values and a determination to do a good job and look after his people. Money was much lower in the list.

Blacks have been bursting through the constraint of such barriers and limitations for centuries now. In the last sixty years in America others who have come before you have laid much broken glass at the feet of Black America. Yet, who placed the barriers; who at first constrained us in the boxes with the glass ceilings? Certainly it was not us. We live in a world not of our own making. I want so very much for my Black community, but not that which can be given, nor granted. No, what I want mostly for my Black community must be taken, it must be acquired through express and diligent intent. It can only be birthed through aggressive and intelligent design; whereas, you must commit your life-time to craft it, to engineer your acquisition and construction of it. You must want it with the utmost zeal, and once acquired you must value it as your most prized possession. What I want most for my Black community is true Legacy.

He believes a lack of Financial Literacy across many Small Business sectors has led to a measurable deficiency in general business acumen and higher fail rates for Black owned Small Business ventures. The Russell Group Project is a Small Business Owner collective self-tasked with increasing the success rate of Small Business through Financial Literacy education, business training, value-added free workshops, and easy access to Commercial Finance. Additionally, Members benefit from education and training on successful marketing strategies, the application of technology in their business, social media techniques, and Business Continuation strategies to ensure the survivability of their business. Dameon Russell and The Russell Group Project are based in the greater Sacramento, California area. The BBCA is focused on the education of Black business owners; this book, Financial Literacy & Ownership is intended to enlighten, empower, and awaken the Black community. Mr. Russell spent time years ago mentoring & tutoring urban students in Oakland, CA public schools. He witnessed first-hand, and worked with many students who had deficient reading and writing skills, as well as an almost total lack of Financial Literacy. High school seniors who were just mere months away from entry into adult society unable even to write a check properly, to say nothing of actually balancing a check book or managing finances. These children, had a horribly miss-guided understanding of Ownership and no desire nor urgency to change that. Mr. Russell began every lecture, and conversation with these youth by explaining to them the value of Ownership by at first trying to define Ownership. Explaining, we don’t own the homes we live in, the cars we drive, the manufacturing plants making those cars, the theaters we see movies in, nor the film companies making those movies. They simply didn’t get it, nor value it. It was then Mr. Russell realized that Financial Literacy was lacking in the students, because it was lacking in the home.

pretty powerful message

Wow, pretty powerful message. Not "militant" at all, just powerful. Dameon Russell has much to say & delivers in this truly powerful and necessary wake-up call for the black community. We Blacks need to bust the stereo types which subconsciously confines us; like Mr. Russell says, it's all about awareness and the only way we get out of the situation is to educate ourselves out. I only hope Mr. Russell's book attracts enough readers to really spark the fire! I recommend this book for EVERY black person!!

This book will make you think.......

I want to applaud the author for telling it as it is and bringing to light a truly necessary message . Generally speaking, Blacks do not own.
The formula to change this reality is increasing our collective understanding of what it means to own, and how to begin to own. I agree with
Mr. Russell, the answer is Financial Literacy. This book has the message all Black people need to hear and to understand the desperate nature
of it. A clear, powerful, well delivered message and not a difficult read. I will be reading it again.

Amazing Book!

This is one of the best books I've read about authority as a Christian. The author takes the bible and breaks it down in a way that you can relate to in this day and age. The biggest complaint I hear about the bible is that it was written forever ago, it doesn't apply to how we live today, but this book helps to show just how much things really haven't changed over the years. If you want to know why Jesus Christ died for you, what that really means and why it's so significant, read this book!

This is a Game Changer!

This book changed my prayer life! I was able to implement the lessons before I was even half way through it, and it changed my life.
And the author, Gene Herndon, writes with style and humor, so it's not like reading a text book.
If you want to really get your faith moving, this book will get it going.
I'm not one to give all pros and no cons in reviews, so the con is I wish it was written sooner!

The merchant’s life is forfeit, says the Beast, for trespass and the theft of a rose—but he will spare the old man’s life if he sends one of his daughters: “Your daughter would take no harm from me, nor from anything that lives in my lands.” When Beauty hears this story—for her father had picked the rose to bring to her—her sense of honor demands that she take up the Beast’s offer, for “cannot a Beast be tamed?”

This much-loved retelling of the classic French tale Beauty and the Beast elicits the familiar magical charm, but is more believable and complex than the traditional story. In this version, Beauty is not as beautiful as her older sisters, who are both lovely and kind. Here, in fact, Beauty has no confidence in her appearance but takes pride in her own intelligence, her love of learning and books, and her talent in riding. She is the most competent of the three sisters, which proves essential when they are forced to retire to the country because of their father's financial ruin.

The plot follows that of the renowned legend: Beauty selflessly agrees to inhabit the Beast's castle to spare her father's life. Beauty's gradual acceptance of the Beast and the couple's deepening trust and affection are amplified in novel form. Robin McKinley's writing has the flavor of another century, and Beauty heightens the authenticity as a reliable and competent narrator.

This was McKinley's first book, written almost 20 years ago. Since that time she has been awarded the Newbery Medal for The Hero and the Crown and has delighted her fans with another retelling of the Beauty and the Beast fable, Rose Daughter. Still, McKinley's first novel has a special place in the hearts of her devoted readers, many of whom attest to relishing Beauty time and again. (Ages 11 to Adult)

Robin McKinley has won various awards and citations for her writing, including the Newbery Medal for The Hero and the Crown, a Newbery Honor for The Blue Sword, and the Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Adult Literature for Sunshine. Beautiful, Wonderful Story Ruined with an Awful Take-Away Message

SPOILER ALERT: This story sucked me in from the beginning, and if I read it originally, I had forgotten it. It was beautifully written, and, in a nice twist, Beauty, of Beauty and the Beast, wasn't. So wonderful, I thought. The small, dark-haired girl with big hands and feet, who is more plain than her sisters, who loves to read and is practical and hardworking, will get the prince in the end. I was all ready to order a copy for my small, dark-haired, book-loving niece. Thank goodness I didn't. The retelling of the tale was simply gorgeous, and the characters were fully-fleshed out; I loved it until the end. Unfortunately, the take-away message from the story is that only after the magic makes her beautiful can Beauty be worthy of her transformed Beast. Disappointing to say the least. I was planning to order a bunch more of Robin McKinley's books, since I remembered them fondly from my days of reading YA fiction. Not any more. I am going to re-read something I've read before, just to get the awful taste of the end of this story out of my mouth.

LOVE IT!!!!

I am an 11 year old girl writing a review on my mom's account. I love this book because it's not childish like the Disney Beauty and the Beast. I couldn't put it down. I fell in love with the characters in this book. This is the first book I have read by Robin McKinley. The story is very sweet. I felt like I was in the story.
You get to follow this young woman's life, starting out from being wealthy in the city. Her father's job doesn't end up working out. (She's motherless...) They have to move to the country where her brother in law grew up. They're the only ones very close to the "enchanted" forest. Her father gets lost and goes to the castle. After that there is a sweet romance that you fall in love with. I loved this story! It's great for kids 10+... I think that both boys and girls would enjoy this. I did!

A gentle fairytale, well-told

I read this decades ago; when it went on sale I picked it up as an ebook. I read it, hoping it would live up to my memory of it and it did. What a great retelling of the fairy tale! The characters were developed, the story moved along smartly, and the ending was perfect.

I loved the touches of whimsy (check out some of the titles in the library!) and the slow romance between Beauty and the Beast. The earlier sections did much to develop Beauty's character.

If you like the story of Beauty and the Beast, I think you'll fall in love with this book. If you like fantasy, this is a well-written one.

It's an OK book but would have like to review a few pages before. It sounds like it's from a foreign country just by the verbage. This industry is important to our economy and a clear understanding of it for students interested in entering this field requires an American text with global information. This is good for getting a little look into it. Going more current is better.
